Families with children who have autism and are on the NDIS are being told there is time to prepare for changes.

By 2030, thousands of participants with lower support needs will be removed from the NDIS to support long-term sustainability.

Speaking to National Radio News, Autism Association Australia CEO and Founder, Nicole Rogerson, says the reforms are necessary but do come with some uncertainty.

None of this is happening tomorrow. This eligibility changes happening over the next 18 months. Nobody's losing their NDIS package tomorrow. These were merely announced so everybody can start planning and systems can start being reformed. But But I understand people are very nervous.
