We're excited to share that CBAA/Powerd Media journalist Emma Myers is among the finalists for the The Walkley Foundation for Journalism Media Diversity Australia Prize for her article "Left behind – the deadly gaps in emergency preparedness for Australians with disability."

Emma's article, which explores disaster preparedness and responses as they impact people with disability, showcases the unique role that community media has to play in sharing stories that aren't being told anywhere else.

It is also a demonstration of the important role that Powerd Media plays as a source of news primarily by and for people with lived experiences of disability.

This is much deserved recognition for Emma's work and we wish her all the best when the winners are announced next month on 19 June.
