A children's charity has been forced to look for other ways to raise crucial funds after cancelling its annual fundraiser.
The Variety New South Wales Bash is a six-day motoring event through the state's regions... each year it raises over a million dollars to support children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.
But Variety New South Wales/ACT CEO, Tony Warner, told National Radio News with high fuel prices, it was no longer viable.
So it's about a $1 million hit to variety and to kids in need. And obviously the need hasn't stopped. And so now what we're looking at is, well, how do we support these children, kids with disabilities, kids with additional support needs, kids who are unwell? How do we support them without taking the bash to those communities?
