An accessible beach initiative is expanding in Victoria, with a new site officially opened at Seaford to support people living with disability.
RPP FM reports, the program builds on a successful summer pilot at Frankston Beach, which delivered more than 450 assisted visits and is claimed to offer the most accessible beach experience in Australia.
Backed by state government funding and supported by local council and lifesaving services, the Seaford site, just north of Franskton, will include specialised equipment, access matting and mobility beach wheelchairs.
The expansion reflects growing demand for inclusive coastal access, with similar programs being considered nationwide.
