National Radio News is the independent national news service for the community broadcasting sector, produced by Charles Sturt University at 2MCE-FM for almost 30 years.
Keeping community radio listeners up-to-date with news from around the nation and overseas, National Radio News is a respected, valued and alternative hourly service.
Coverage includes national issues from a regional perspective, under-represented and diverse voices from your community, and original stories from our experienced producers.
National Radio News is aligned to the guiding principles of community broadcasting with access, diversity, and independence at its heart.
We’re curious and socially responsible, telling stories from under-represented voices including regional Australia, Indigenous people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
We broadcast to stations in every state and territory in a range of markets, reaching 1.5 million listeners each week.
Our professional journalists are supported by the next generation of journalism talent from the Bachelor of Communication at Charles Sturt University, giving them hands-on experience whilst they study.
How to listen?
You can hear National Radio News on the hour 6am to 7pm weekdays, and 6am to 12pm weekends on Charles Sturt University’s own community radio station, 2MCE (broadcast or livestream) or via a subscribing community radio station near you.
