This edition, Deanne Ferris - Communications Officer extraordinaire and Member of the Women’s Australian Blind Cricket Team.
On this week’s Studio 1: Communications Officer extraordinaire and Member of the Women’s Australian Blind Cricket Team Deanne Ferris.
Matthew Layton and Sam Rickard present Studio 1 - Vision Australia Radio’s weekly look at life from a low vision and blind point of view.
Our guest this week is Communications Officer for West Australia’s Drug and Alcohol Service, Dee Ferris - who has been announced as part of the first ever Women’s Blind Cricket Team to compete at the IBSA World Games.
Sam writes:
“Me and Heidi have known Dee since 2001, and have spent many an afternoon over a pint or three of beer chatting much like this interview.
Quite often people say someone was “Lucky Enough” to make it onto an International Sports Team luck be damned – being Not-Out against NSW (the current National Champions) at the National Cricket Inclusion Championships might have had something to do with this well-deserved selection.”
I hope our listeners enjoy Dee’s company this episode as much as we do.
Please get in touch with the show, whether you have experience of any of the issues covered in this episode of Studio 1 or if you think there’s something we should be talking about.
You never know your story and your insight may help somebody else who is dealing with something similar.
